New work by Veronica Corzo-Duchardt and Theresa Rose
OPENING
Wednesday, June 19th from 5:30- 8pm
Opening performance will take place across the street in the Hawthorne Playground at 5:30pm
Hawthorne Playground, a City of Philadelphia playground, is situated directly across the street from the artists' studio. They look out each day at kids playing, homeless resting, teenagers being teenagers, and skate boarders skating in the defunct basketball court. It is an active playground, much used but also in need of care and repair.
This exhibition honors the beauty that still exists in the park, appreciates the work of the minimal but mighty staff, and calls attention to the textures of disrepair.
